Page of Swords Tarot Card Combinations and Meanings
Suit Element:
Air, analytical thought and intellect. Suit of challenges. Keywords and Phrases: Messages delayed. Discouraging news. Perceptive child. Page of Swords Tarot Card Meanings For clarity in readings, my view of the Pages are the only Courts I use with the possibility of two meanings, either to represent messages coming in, or as children. As a message, the Page of Swords indicates news that is held up or slightly discouraging. In the Gilded Tarot the Sword the Page holds is pointing downward, which can help make it easier to remember the delaying aspect. As the personality description for a child, the Page of Swords is perceptive, highly observant, quite analytical, and mentally agile. They often appear serious as they spend a good deal of time locked in their thoughts, constantly analysing and processing information. They may seem older than their years, follow the rules, and dislike unfairness. Sometimes the Page of Swords can indicate a problem around or concerning a child. Traditionally, this card also represented a gossip or troublemaker, but generally I would look for more indications to support that side of the meaning, mainly as a reversed or badly-aspected card. Some readers use the Courts as facets of a personality so, in this respect, the Pages suggest the newness of childhood, such as when you take up the fragile beginnings of entering a new arena, you enter with a childlike state. As Swords represent air, this would be connected to the world of ideas and the intellect. Tarot Card Combinations: As messages coming in, look to the card following to see what occurs as a consequence; the card preceding should show where the message originates from.
